Zero Dark Thirty

We watched a little bit of this film in class on this day. I think the big takeaway from watching this was how torture is often used to pry information from others. One of the characters tells how the victim needs to feel helpless in order to talk. Upon asking if the prisoner will ever be free, the torturer answered "never". I relate this idea to believing that torture happens in this country, but is never revealed to the public eye.
